Terms, in plain English.

These are the terms for work done by Site Unseen Studio (ABN 72 621 257 069), “we” and “us” below. Paying a deposit or a care plan invoice means you accept them. If anything here is unclear, email lilli@siteunseen.studio before you pay and we’ll explain it.

1. Your preview

The preview is free and comes with no obligation. It sits on a private link that search engines are told not to list. If you ask us to take it down, we do, and we don’t email you again.

2. The website build

The build costs A$2,900. We are not registered for GST, so no GST is charged.

It includes:

• a finished website based on the preview you’ve seen, up to ten pages and never fewer than your current site has
• two rounds of changes
• your existing booking or quoting tool connected, if you use one
• your domain switched to the new site
• anything we got wrong fixed free for 30 days after launch.

It doesn’t include online shops, custom software, new photography or fees for other companies’ tools. If you need any of those, we quote first and only go ahead if you say yes.

3. Payment

• Half (A$1,450) is paid as a deposit. Work on your changes starts when it arrives.
• The other half is paid before we switch your domain to the new site.
• Invoices are due within 7 days.

Once we’ve started work on your changes, the deposit isn’t refundable. If we can’t deliver what’s described on this page, we refund it in full.

If we’re waiting on you and don’t hear back for 60 days, we pause the project and email you before doing anything else.

4. Who owns what

• Once the build is paid in full, the website is yours: the design, the pages and the files.
• Until then it stays ours, and the preview stays private.
• Your logo, photos and words are always yours. You confirm you have the right to use what’s on your current site and anything you send us.
• We may show the finished site as an example of our work. If you’d rather we didn’t, tell us and we won’t.

5. Your domain

Your domain name stays registered to you. We never ask you to transfer it to us. To go live, you either give us access to its settings or make one change yourself using instructions we send.

6. The care plan

The care plan is optional and costs A$79 a month. It includes:

• hosting on a secure, enterprise-grade platform
• up to an hour of edits each month, such as new photos, prices or opening hours
• someone to email when something looks wrong.

Unused edit time doesn’t carry over. Anything bigger than the monthly hour is quoted first.

• Billing: monthly in advance, by card.
• Cancelling: any time, by email. The plan runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for. There is no exit fee.
• When you leave: we send you the website files so you can host them wherever you like.
• Missed payments: we email you. If the invoice is still unpaid 14 days later, we may take the site offline until it’s paid.
• Price changes: we give you at least 30 days’ notice by email.

7. If you host it yourself

If you’d rather not take the care plan, we hand over the website files once the build is paid for. From then on, hosting, security and upkeep are yours to look after.

8. What we don’t promise

We don’t promise a position on Google, a number of enquiries or a level of sales. No honest web designer can. We also can’t promise that hosting will never be interrupted, although outages are rare.

9. If something goes wrong

You have rights under the Australian Consumer Law that can’t be taken away, and nothing on this page limits them. Beyond those rights, and as far as the law allows, the most we are liable for is the amount you have paid us in the previous 12 months, and we aren’t liable for lost profits or other indirect losses.

10. Your information

We use your details only to do the work and to bill you. We don’t sell them or pass them on, other than to the services we use to host your site and take payment.

11. Changes to these terms

This page is dated. The version in place on the day you paid your deposit is the one that applies to your build. If the care plan terms change, we tell you by email at least 30 days ahead.
